Cozy Christmas Kitchen

I've cozied up the little kitchen dining area
for Christmas.

I draped the garland around the plate rack and
stacked a sled at the top

I added my "Twas the night before Christmas" dishes
to the plate rack

My Woodland Santa from Kirklands (2012)

The sun came out! Yay!  We've been getting
a lot of snow and it's been a bit since we've had
much sunlight!

A serving tray that was a gift from last Christmas and just happens to have the same coloring as the dishes.

Some little extras from one of my sisters

I moved the one plate forward and put a wreath behind it....just because

Some Mosser ruby red juice glasses and a cow creamer cozy it up some more.

I purchased these dishes a couple of years ago from Dillards (watch their end of season sales)

 Ready for some warm drinks

In the corner is my kitchen Christmas tree.
I put the poinsettia and mercury glass bird down below.

Sweet old fashioned looking tin from T.J. Maxx

Picked this candle up in Pennsylvania in October

My kitchen tree has a collection of foodie items

Last year I was gifted with some "garden" related ornaments so I added them to the kitchen tree

I may have to create a new tree for more garden related ornaments!

The chandelier is draped with a garland that I added some blueberry pieces to.  The ornaments are done  just like last years.

I'm using the sled/tray that I posted about
"here" for dishes to be easily used

Over by the sink I put a few things in the window
I took these pictures very early to catch the glow
of the light fixture.

This little fixture was a gift from my mom many years ago.  I felt sentimental about it this year because at 91 yrs old she's gotten very forgetful and it was one of the last little things she gave me when she was still interested in shopping a bit.

The little chefs called Kindles (by Byer's Choice) are stacked in a tin with silver edged pine cones.  I  used them in this post in 2010

Did you notice the snow through my windows?
Yep this is my deck and part of the backyard.
Looks like we're having a White Christmas
around here!

  8. I love that nook at your home. I always feel home when you share your creations and tweakings on it.
    That's a happy place.
I'm looking for some kitchen-inspired figure. Where I had that heart I now have a shelf (in the kitchen) and I wanted to put a Cooking Santa or something but no luck.
    Enjoy yours. All of it.
    Merry and Bessed Christmas!

  9. I am SO glad that you mentioned you added some garden ornaments to your tree. I first looked at that wheelbarrow of sunflowers and thought it was a ham with pineapple rings!!!!! You SAID the tree had foodie items, so that's the first thing that came to mind until I read and looked closer! :-) :-) :-) How crazy am I?!???!?

I WILL have to watch Dillard's for their after-Christmas sale!!! What great dishes!!! I almost always forget about Dillard's since there isn't one really close. I think the closest one is about 20 miles from our house.

    Your kitchen looks 100% Christmas-ready!!!

I am a big lover of Santas and snowmen myself and does your blog header and layout have touches of Miss Linda of Life and Linda? Not many of us have her special, little touches...she's the best!

  18. Liz, your kitchen is awesome. I absolutely love your "night before Christmas" dishes. I used to go to the giant sale at Dillard's after Christmas. I seem to remember the biggest sale was New Years day.
Your chancy is so pretty and the sled with the dinnerware is amazing.
I really wish I had felt up to doing major decor this year. There is always next year. I am going to live vicariously through your beautiful home. I am off to see more.
    Merry Christmas,

I really love the black with the red and white and the plaid table cloth. It is so classic and English cottage. Beautiful. I'm sorry about your mother.

I really love your plate rack all decked out for the holidays. The ornaments on your tree are super sweet, you have a beautiful collection, and I just adore ornaments on the chandy.
