This Week's Ramblings (#3)

This has been a quick week!
Having the 4th fall on a Friday is great for a long weekend and I'm sure everyone is appreciating that.  I just found myself feeling scattered so I could get as much done before the 4th so I could relax (ha ha)

Breakfast
I took random pictures with  my iPhone (sorry about the quality).  It takes a bit longer but I like to bake the bacon.  I used a cookie rack set on top of a large baking dish to lay the bacon on.  I bake them at 350.  I started out for 15 minutes, then turned them over and decided to put try convection bake to speed it up.  Another 10 minutes and they were ready.  You have to watch them closely near the end.
My daughter added blue food coloring to the pancakes and some candied red and white sprinkles.   They look a little odd but they tasted great.  The potatoes were left over wedges I had made a few days before and I browned them up in the pan with some butter.  I added cheese to the scrambled eggs.  (Nothing low calorie here!)

Breakfast and Dinner
Hubby and daughter feasting at breakfast and dinner.  It was amazingly pleasant outside and the mosquitoes didn't bother us.
I had to remove the red tablecloth that I used in my Tablescape from Thursday that you can see "here" so I could put the umbrella back in place.  You can see the "Star Spangled" clay pottery pieces I put together and posted about "here"
I also put my Uncle Sam and the adirondack chair over on a side table.  They were both part of my tablescape.

Foodie Items
I started the day out early making apple pie, then potato salad, a pasta salad with gluten free noodles for our daughter, baked beans and some chocolate covered pretzels that Chelsea helped me create.  She dipped and I sprinkled!  We had hot dogs from our local meat market and burgers that were grilled.

Earlier in the week I also posted about the "Lit'l Blue Trike" that already got transformed to the "Lit'l Yellow Trike".  You can see that post "here"

We have a lot of leftovers so I won't have to prepare much for the next few meals.

Patriotic Displays
I staged flags around here and there.  The Old Time Swag was from Grandinroad.  We have hooks on the side of the deck railing that we've used for Christmas lights and we just hooked the swag on them.

Wow, I just realized that this is my 400th Post!
My first post was August 22, 2010

So that's my week's ramblings!
I hope your 4th of July celebrating was great!
