"Early" Fall on the Mantel

I've moved into the living room with a 2nd start to my fall decorating.
I wanted to keep the white lantern pieces and the decorative bowl in place so I just decorated them!

I saw these grape vine maple leaves at Michael's and got the idea to hang them on the open lattice design of the lanterns and thanks to a little custom hook hubby made for me it worked.

I liked the olive toned leaves because of the colors in the room.

I was looking for a vase to go there but couldn't find what I wanted to I invented this little arrangement.  I added these decorative pine cone like pieces into this plain glass jar that I added the raffia to.

Changed out the candles to these harvest ones.

I liked the texture of these pumpkins (T.J.Maxx) and then saw some burlap orange colored leaves (Hobby Lobby) that I added in along with a few more faux leaves.

I'll be adding more to the mantel as we get deeper into autumn which won't be too long. We were down to 43 the other night and we turned the furnace on already (but only for a little while).

So that's my "Early" Fall on the Mantel and my 2nd step into the new season's decorating.

  1. Very beautiful colors in your mantel decoration. My TV is above my mantel, so don't have much room to add pretties.

  4. Liz I love the way you are incorporating your fall decor in to your home, I wish I was patient enough to just do a bit at a time but I start something I can't stop until I am done. I live for the white lanterns and that little truck of fall on them really pop.

  10. Liz, I like how you kept things simple by adding your fall leaves and colors to what you already had in place. I love the colored "pine cones" inside the apothecary jar. The lines of the jar are great with your candles, too. It all looks great!
