I've been working through most of last week and the weekend to get all my Holiday Decorating done.
I'm going to start with the Christmas tree!
I thought this song might be nice to listen to while viewing my pictures
This is a really pretty version of Oh Tannenbaum
I'm whiting out the mantel for another post.
It's been gray for days but today the sun came out so I quickly captured a few pictures!
Last year I went heavy into the tartan plaid. I adore the tartan pattern- especially in red!
Red magnolia flowers enhanced the tree this year! Can you believe I bought them last year and didn't use them!
No star or lighted top this year- just a gradual work up to the top with ornaments and ribbon. I wanted to have a cozy lodge feel to my Holiday Decorating this year.
My daughter was visiting New York in late October and bought me this- love it!
The little glass candles came from T.J. Maxx several years ago. The little gold bird cages came from Frontage (a splurge) last year. I used the same tartan plaid ribbons last year.
Santa's readying the gifts for the ride on his sleigh Christmas Eve!
(My santa was a big splurge- end of season sale from MacKenzie Childs 2012) I store it with a clear plastic bag over it and each year it comes out perfect.
A little reindeer in the making! Santa's furry white blanket and pillow keep him warm and his cozy for his travels. Soon he'll fly off in the cool night air to his cottage for some warm hot cocoa and a dinner with Mrs. Claus.
A distant cousin to Rudolph too young to have his horns yet! Santa keeps him warm and close by so he'll learn all the tricks!
The sleigh was a Christmas gift in 2009.
I got the gold cording and the little lanterns at JoAnn's. The lantern's have a switch on the bottom to light them! I'll show some evening shots later this week.
Per my request Dan painted the sleigh body black a few weeks ago. I was inspired by the $400 black one that Pottery Barn is selling this year.
It got real cool that evening after it was painted so he ran some heaters to help it dry a little quicker.
I went with a faux fur tree skirt this year (from Target).
Thank you for visiting- keep coming back as I will keep adding more posts of my Holiday Decorating coming!
